Our Junior Kicks '13 division is everyone born in 2013. Junior Kicks enforces more rules of the game and encourages working as a team and passing the ball to try to score. Every player is required to wear shin guards and soccer socks that fully cover their shin guards. Every player must wear athletic shorts, and Blue Sky will provide the jerseys. We allow players to wear cleats, indoor, turf or running shoes to play.
Junior Kicks plays 4v4 and there are no goalies. No score is kept in this league and a size 3 soccer ball will be used.
The two main rules in this league are the arc rule and the two touch violation. The arc rule states if a player enters the arc and touches the ball it is a violation. A player cannot touch the ball inside the arc; however, they are allowed to run through arc without a ball. If the offensive player has a foot inside the arc and touches the ball, the defensive player will get a goal kick. If the defensive player has a foot inside the arc and touches the ball, the offensive player will get a penalty kick. The rule is a bit tricky, so if you have any questions feel free to ask the Blue Sky staff. The two touch violation rule states that on a free kick or kick off, a player can only touch the ball once. They cannot dribble the ball on a free kick or kick off, they can only kick the ball once.
ALL COACHES ARE PARENT VOLUNTEERS IN THIS PROGRAM. Coaches deteremine when, where and how often. We suggest junior kicks practice once a week for 30 minutes or an hour.
